Today I'm sharing these turned tea light candle holders that I made for my friend's wedding...

It was my first time turning fir, and I thought it was very nice to work with.  I especially loved the grain pattern, which I hoped to highlight by choosing a dark stain.  I think it worked out great, and I was very happy with them!

I hope you're all having a great week so far!

  2. The grain of the wood does really show up well on these three candlesticks. Well done with your woodwork! So nice to give a wedding present you have made yourself!

  6. Beautiful. Reminds me of my school days. I went to a boarding school, and boys went around girls bedrooms stealing chair legs to make turned candle holders (after they used up their chairs!) in our woodwork workshop. They were saying that turning was so addictive!! LOL
Lovely present for your friend and the dark stain looks great indeed.
